It’s that time of year again. It’s Thanksgiving. It’s a time to be with family, eat more than your fill of comfort foods, and give thanks. Though we are certainly thankful throughout the year, we think it is important to celebrate the holiday that purposes us to slow down and reflect on how we have been blessed. We had a great time celebrating a week early at Tejas with our neighbors and staff. SEE PHOTOS OF TEJAS THANKSGIVING As we look back on the year at Tejas we are thankful for every guest we have had the privilege of serving. What a unique privilege to show thousands the love of Christ every year! May we continue to humble ourselves before our Lord and be obedient to His guidance. This year we have many stories that declare God’s provision on behalf of our ministry. We have had building materials donated, we have had a smoker donated, received financial support for the Cunningham Terrace, and we have had many volunteers that donated their time to Tejas. Today is a rather frigid day in Texas, and the gusts of wind have been upwards of thirty miles per hour. Yet, despite the weather, we have Serve Day volunteers on our property hanging Christmas lights, moving boxes, and picking up trash, with smiles on their faces. We’ve been blessed to have the SOWERS with us the last three weeks working on a variety of projects. In the time they were here they built our new Front Field Pavilion, completed a significant portion of the Cunningham Terrace, and have made repairs to a few of our existing buildings. It’s not uncommon to see some of the volunteers working over the weekends or catch them inviting staff to share morning coffee and devotions. We have some much to be thankful for! To all who have donated your time, talent, and treasure to Tejas, we extend our heart-felt thanks. “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all” 2 Corinthians 13:14
